NURAL launches ‘I Choose to Stay
Close to My Family’ Programme.
Excerpt from the Ministry of Women,
Family and Community Development speech, delivered by Pn Aminah Abdul
Rahman - Director General of Population & Family Development
Board.
“The vision of the Ministry of Women, Family and Community
Development is to be a focal point in achieving gender equality,
family development and caring society as the basis for the
formation of a developed nation of distinction. While its mission is
to integrate women, families and community into the mainstream of
national development process and to strengthen the
family institution towards improving social well-being. This is
done through the provision of efficient and effective social
development programs and services by the Ministry as well
as through strategic partnership. Projects like this “CSR I
Choose
to Stay Close to My Family” Program which contributes
to the development of strong, resilient and healthy families are always
welcomed and supported by the Ministry.
Programmes of this nature are in tandem with the Ministry of
Women Family and Community Development’s vision of family,
community and national well-being. The National Population and
Family Development Board (NPFDB) which is an agency under the
wing of the Ministry serves to contribute towards the development of
quality population through the strengthening and promotion of
family well being. Its vision is to develop strong, resilient and
healthy families as the cornerstone of a caring society, a
quality population and a progressive Malaysian society”.
The launch of NURAL “I Choose to Stay Close to My
Family” programme was witnessed by the Deputy Minister of
Women, Family & Community Development represented by Pn
Aminah Abdul Rahman (Director General of Population & Family
Development Board) and partnered by :-
a) HOPE Worldwide Kuala Lumpur
b) National Association of Early Childhood Care &
Education of Malaysia (NAECCEM)
c) Persatuan Dyslexia Malaysia
d) Persatuan Pengasuh Berdaftar Malaysia
e) Royal Malaysian Police Force
f) The Malaysian Fire Brigade and Rescue Department
Mr. Paul Soh, Marketing Director, Nutritek Overseas Pte. Ltd. at the launch reaffirms that
“It doesn’t matter if you are a carer for children that are not your own, a family that struggles to meet ends need or a parent caught up in the high flying corporate world, the bond and love between child and adult transcends wealth and poverty. It does not discriminate.”
“NURAL ‘I Choose to Stay Close to My Family’ is something we should all embrace for the health and well being of our next generation. This programme will continue to evolve, and with the input from everyone who comes into contact with it; its potential is unlimited!”
